Join us as we return to those bygone days, when every home had an upright grand piano, and entertainment was sharing the latest sheet music with family and friends gathered together for an evening of singing.
American Vaudeville Museum Performance Project presents Come Into My Parlour with tenor, Ernest W Sturdevant and pianist James Bratcher----a Sunday afternoon spree from Grandma’s decorous parlour to the rough-and-ready Music Hall, with a side trip to the continent and a visit to the Opera with friends Bill & Joe. Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale Blvd, SE, two blocks South of UNM, in Albuquerque Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 4pm. Come Into My Parlour uniquely blends songs heard in the 1920’s family salon, Opera arias based on the work of Shakespeare, rarely performed Music Theatre and German Lieder with The British Music Hall and it’s many imitators, for a genteel summer afternoon’s light-hearted fare.
