Here's a Camp where the kids do it all! Give your child a chance to explore leadership skills in a fun creative environmnet. The kids will brainstrorm ideas for a movie, write the script, create characters,design costumes, cast the parts, decide on locations to shoot at our studio, and MAKE A MOVIE!! The last 30 minutes of class will be a Special VIP Movie Screening, starring you, for friends and family!

Creative Tip of the Week
Kids- Make you OWN film festival with your friends. Ask your parents to borrow their cameras ( either a digital camera with video, or a real camcorder if you have one) and make a Film Festival. Decide surprise catagories or funny props you have to use on your movie, and you only have one after noon to make it! Then, get together to watch everyones masterpiece!
Adults- AUDITION Native Americans/ Canadian actors
Writer/Director, Brooke Pepion Swaney, is casting her film, "Spark the Punk", and she needs to find some New Mexico NativeAmerican/Canadian actors, union or non, either will work.
Here is what they are looking for:
LOUISA [mid 20s] - Native American. Harboring a dislike for most people, a great wit, and a drinking problem, Louisa protects her vitally sensitive inner core through external hardness. Grew up off the rez. Striking. Wiry. Long hair.
LOUIS SR [50s] - Native American. Louisa's father. He regrets watching his daughter go down the same path. Great sense of humor and uses it to his advantage. Works as a counselor and sometimes forgets not to be on the job with his family. Rotund.
MAN [60s] - Native American. Trickster. Wild. Smart but sometimes does not see the outcome of his actions. Also Striking and wiry.
Production will pay for transport and accommodation for the actors from Seattle.
SHOOT DATES: September 15 - 20 2010 in Montana.
We will be meeting crew in Seattle and will pick up actors from the airport and driving to Montana. Crew, gear and actors will be needed SEPTEMBER 13, returning the gear back on SEPTEMBER 21 (and actors can head back to New Mexico)
For the actors, it would be a low low pay sort of deal. Director is doing some fund raising so there is pay of $100/day at this stage. That may change if more funds are raised. Travel and accommodation will be provided to those that are coming from afar.
POSSIBLE AUDITION DATES:
1) First stage is to send in picture/headshots and CV if you have one. Then a demo tape can be sent to Director, based on sides. I can give more info if you contact me...
2) Short List- Those that make it past short listing could have a potential audition on either August 7th/8th potentially (waiting to see what kind of response to know if we need both days)

PA Project Audition
Vik - late-20's/early 30's - male - Caucasian - prefer athletic body build but will consider smaller, leaner body type
Vik is hot, arrogant, controlling, and sometimes violent. He feeds off of people's weaknesses, but, he also knows that he 'needs' these people around him in order to feel good about his misused existance. Image is everything to Vik, which explains why he is so demanding of his average, girl-next-door girlfriend, Casey. Vik expects everything to be done for him, as he likes it, when he likes it. He definitely has an Adonis-problem. Vik takes great care of his physical appearance and never allows a hair out-of-place. He's all that and he knows it - and doesn't mind flaunting it either. He takes great pride in his image, body, mind and status. He has a younger sister named Sacha, who makes him feel uncomfortable, a syndrome that's plagued him since childhood. Vik is Russian by nationality but prefers the European life, or high American life, most of all. Since he has turned his back on all things Russian, he doesn't have any accents or habits that would label him as such. To everyone around him, he is "Vik"... the suave, sophisticated, arrogant, American playboy.
**Role demands that the actor be willing to have free Russian voice coaching for occasional use of authentic Russian dialogue and that he be versatile in level of emotions, such as arrogance, desperation, brokenness, and sophistication.
AUDITIONS are Thursday, July 22nd at 3:30pm (sharp), on the 3rd floor of the Student Union Building on the UNM main campus.
If cast, the actor must be able to attend the 2nd cast/crew meeting the following Sunday, July 25th, at 3pm.

The PA Project is a new TV show, created by Bre Stephens, that will be airing on ABQ Channel 27. The goal of the show is to showcase all of the talent that resides in and around Albuquerque. Position is UN-paid but the EXPOSURE has great potential. Not only will the show be shown on local TV but it will also be streamed live on the station's website. With this online presence, the show can potentially go world-wide.

Attention Improvers!!!
Sol Acting Academy is seeking experienced improvisation performers and will be holding auditions on July 23 and 24, 2010. Please respond if interested in performing in improv shows along with other talented actors. The group will be performing short-form, “Whose Line is it Anyway” type games in its shows, and those wanting to audition should at least be familiar with this style of improv. Must be 21 or older to audition.

Monologue Boot Camp- 9 Week Class
Mondays, from 6: 30- 8: 30 pm. Starts Sept 20, 2010
Every actor needs audition monologues to dazzle and amaze at a moment’s notice. The Monologue Boot Camp, a 2-hour, 9-week class, will help you prepare a solid and appropriate monologue (or several monologues), classical and/or contemporary, for any audition situation. You’ll work with master acting teacher and coach, Robin Lane, also a stage director and Broadway performer, in order to learn the necessary techniques to astonish your auditors, be it for an onstage production, or film and/or television.
Ever wanted to be a Fly on the wall at your last audition, wondering what was said about you or your performance? Robin has sat in on many auditions, and can give you top secret tips on wardrobe, personal introductions, monologue choices, and MORE! You may, for the first class, bring in one monologue for review (no longer than 1 and 1/2 minutes); or, if you’re not sure how to go about researching an appropriate piece, in its very first class Boot Camp will help you find and employ the proper resources. And at the end of the 9-week course, each of you will perform a chosen monologue in a showcase for an invited audience!

This workshop is for actors who want to work on layering their close up performances and explore character development. This class allows you to take your craft to the next level and get SHARP! Sol Acting Academy is seeking experienced improvisation performers and will be holding auditions on July 23 and 24, 2010. Please respond if interested in performing in improv shows along with other talented actors. The group will be performing short-form, “Whose Line is it Anyway” type games in its shows, and those wanting to audition should at least be familiar with this style of improv. Must be 21 or older to audition.

Monologue Boot Camp- 9 Week Class
Mondays, from 6: 30- 8: 30 pm. Starts Sept 20, 2010
Every actor needs audition monologues to dazzle and amaze at a moment’s notice. The Monologue Boot Camp, a 2-hour, 9-week class, will help you prepare a solid and appropriate monologue (or several monologues), classical and/or contemporary, for any audition situation. You’ll work with master acting teacher and coach, Robin Lane, also a stage director and Broadway performer, in order to learn the necessary techniques to astonish your auditors, be it for an onstage production, or film and/or television.
Ever wanted to be a Fly on the wall at your last audition, wondering what was said about you or your performance? Robin has sat in on many auditions, and can give you top secret tips on wardrobe, personal introductions, monologue choices, and MORE! You may, for the first class, bring in one monologue for review (no longer than 1 and 1/2 minutes); or, if you’re not sure how to go about researching an appropriate piece, in its very first class Boot Camp will help you find and employ the proper resources. And at the end of the 9-week course, each of you will perform a chosen monologue in a showcase for an invited audience!

This workshop is for actors who want to work on layering their close up performances and explore character development. This class allows you to take your craft to the next level and get SHARP! We are currently prepping TWO new film projects in the Albuquerque area which will require a lot of paid EXTRAS and STAND-INS.
NEW PROJECTS
"FRIGHT NIGHT" - Dreamworks feature film starring Colin Farrell, Toni Collette and Anton Yelchin. Filming will take place from 7/26/10-10/1/10.
"LEMONADE MOUTH" - Disney Channel film. Filming will take place from 7/26/10-9/3/10.
All extras and stand-in positions are NON-UNION and are paid. Extras rate for both of these projects is $8.00/hour with an 8 hour guarantee of $64.00 plus overtime after 8 hours.
We will be looking for ALL types, ALL ages of local New Mexico/Albuquerque area talent to work on this project. Dialects for Adults 101- 5 Week Class Intensive

Dialects are an essential tool for serious actors. Like any other skill an actor possesses, being able to access dialects when needed makes the actor even more versatile and desirable for casting. In this Intensive and Unique 5 week class, students will learn four of the most common dialects used in auditions for the Stage & Screen. Each dialect will be used by students in scenes to be recorded as voiceovers. The class will be taught by local dialect coach Steve Corona, who was Academy-Award winner Helen Mirren's dialect coach on her film Love Ranch which will be released this summer.
BONUS- Each student will receive copies of their recorded voice over work in class to be used however you choose....as a Demo Reel, or just for fun memories!

Casey is a naturally goodhearted woman but has changed her personality to fit the style of her arrogant boyfriend, Vik. Since dating him, she has been demeaning, artificial, and arrogant. Although her best friend has tried to talk some sense into her, she won't come to terms that Vik is not for her... until she is saved by the man that she should be with. Afterwards, she begins her venture back to the kind person she once was.
**Role demands that the actress be versatile in level of emotions, such as arrogance, desperation, dreaminess, and being kindhearted.

The PA Project is a new TV show, created by Bre Stephens, that will be airing on ABQ Channel 27. The goal of the show is to showcase all of the talent that resides in and around Albuquerque. Position is UN-paid but the EXPOSURE has great potential. Not only will the show be shown on local TV but it will also be streamed live on the station's website. With this online presence, the show can potentially go world-wide.

Every actor needs audition monologues to dazzle and amaze at a moment's notice. The Monologue Boot Camp, a 2-hour, 9-week class, will help you prepare a solid and appropriate monologue (or several monologues), classical and/or contemporary, for any audition situation. You'll work with master acting teacher and coach, Robin Lane, also a stage director and Broadway performer, in order to learn the necessary techniques to astonish your auditors, be it for an onstage production, or film and/or television.
Ever wanted to be a Fly on the wall at your last audition, wondering what was said about you or your performance? Robin has sat in on many auditions, and can give you top secret tips on wardrobe, personal introductions, monologue choices, and MORE! You may, for the first class, bring in one monologue for review (no longer than 1 and 1/2 minutes); or, if you're not sure how to go about researching an appropriate piece, in its very first class Boot Camp will help you find and employ the proper resources. And at the end of the 9-week course, each of you will perform a chosen monologue in a showcase for an invited audience!

Extras Casting: Fright Night and Lemonade Mouth
TWO new film projects in the Albuquerque area which will require a lot of paid EXTRAS and STAND-INS.
FRIGHT NIGHT: Dreamworks feature film starring Colin Farrell, Toni Collette and Anton Yelchin. Filming will take place from 7/26/10-10/1/10.
LEMONADE MOUTH: Disney Channel film. Filming will take place from 7/26/10-9/3/10.

FUSION’s production will be the Southwest regional premiere of “August”, a winner of both the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play. FUSION’s production will run September 9th-26th at The Cell Theatre in Downtown ABQ. Rehearsals begin August 9th. This call is open to both AEA and non-union members.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at The Cell Theatre, 700 1st St. NW. Auditions are available by appointment only.
The following roles are available:
Jean Fordham, female, 14—Looking for an experienced actor that is capable of a wide range. This character will be played “older” than 14, and actors up to their early 20’s that are capable of playing “younger” are encouraged to audition.
Johnna Monevata, female, 20-30—Looking for an experienced Native American actor for this role.
The audition will consist of scene work from the script. A short (no more than a minute) prepared monologue is also encouraged.
